Received Doctorate of Humane Letters from Indiana University May 15, 1995 |
|
Author and humorist Jean Shepherd, a Hammond native, received an honorary doctorate of humane letters. Shepherd, best known as the author of the 1983 film, "A Christmas Story," has been compared to Mark Twain and Will Rogers.
